Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages conducted a training in China

11.07.2024

Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Poluikova Svetlana Yurievna returned from Hangzhou, China. She She was doing a training course for Chinese and German teachers on German language teaching methods.

Classes were held at the Hangzhou Entel Foreign Languages School. For five days, the participants mastered modern educational technologies, interactive forms of classes, as well as the possibility of implementing the method of subject-language integrated learning.

A special topic was the intercultural aspect, the peculiarities of teaching Chinese adolescents: popular and taboo topics, verbal and non-verbal means of communication, organization of space, rituals of school everyday life.

Teachers were able to test the skills acquired during the training in classes at the summer language school at the Hangzhou Entel Foreign Languages School and, after testing, immediately receive advice from coaches from Russia.

"I was pleasantly surprised by the hospitality and hospitality of Chinese students and colleagues, the willingness to accompany, help navigate in any situations. We were struck by the performance of schoolchildren (they come in the morning 30 minutes before class to train pronunciation in German), the lack of smartphones in the classroom. The training participants have a desire to learn and immediately apply the acquired skills in practice. On campus - the lack of keys for doors, opportunities for active creativity - laboratories, theaters, newspapers and much more," Svetlana Yurievna shared her impressions.

Our professors often travel to other countries with expert sessions, and students participate in exchange programs. This makes it possible to solve many problems: from the development of external relations to ensuring the presentation of Russian science and the education system abroad and the popularization of education in Russian universities. It is especially pleasant when foreign students choose our university for admission. We suggest diving into an interview with our German student Emma Hermann.
